WILLIAMSPORT - Robert E. Cox, Sr., 73, of Williamsport, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2016 at The Gatehouse.  He was a lifetime resident of Williamsport, born December 4, 1942 to the late Harold O. and Elizabeth (Muerl) Cox. Robert and his late wife Dorothy M. (Ringler) were married in 1969 and shared 38 years of marriage before Dorothy passed away in August 2007.

Robert retired from Textron Lycoming after working for many years as Security.  Robert was a member of the Christ Episcopal Church, Mulberry Street, Williamsport. He was a member of the Masons Lodge #397 and the Williamsport Scottish Right. Robert was a life member of the Independent Fire Company in South Williamsport and also served as Vice President of the Loyalsock Boosters and Loyalsock Pop Warner Association.

Robert is survived by one son, Robert E. Cox, Jr. and his wife Gretchen of Limerick and two grandsons James and Jonathan.  He is also survived by one sister, Suzanne Leuthner of Camp Hill.

A funeral service will be held, Monday, June 20, 2016 at 10 am.  The family will receive visitors 1 hour prior to the service beginning at 9 am.  It will be held at the Maneval Allen Redmond Funeral Home 500 West 4th Street, Williamsport, PA.  Memorial Contributions may be made to the American diabetes Association, 3544 North Progress Avenue, Harrisburg, PA  17110.
