Robert D. Liebersohn

Robert D. Liebersohn, 78, of Williamsport, PA, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, July 22, 2026. He was born in Washington, D.C. on October 3, 1947, a son of the late Louis and Virginia (Darsie) Liebersohn. Robert married the love of his life, Robin (Thomas) Liebersohn, on June 9, 1973. They have celebrated 53 wonderful years together.

Robert was a gentle, quiet man who loved to share his knowledge with others. He was well educated and accomplished in many areas including woodworking, home improvement, electricity, history, and literature. He was an active member of Fairlawn Community Church in Cogan Station where he enjoyed working with the youth program in the archery camp and pinewood derby. Robert has always been known as a car enthusiast. He graduated from National Louis University and became an automotive instructor at various schools including Lincoln Technical Institute, the General Motors Training Center in Fairfax, VA, and Pennsylvania College of Technology. He was a lifetime member of the University Sports Car Club at the UMd where he spent many happy weekends AutoXing and participating in road rallies. Robert liked to travel and spend time outdoors. Above all, Robert’s favorite times were spent with his family, especially his grand and great grandchildren.

Robert is survived by his wife, Robin Liebersohn; a son, Andrew Liebersohn; and a daughter, Jessica Liebersohn all of Williamsport; 12 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Robert is preceded in death by a son, Benjamin Liebersohn; and a sister, Betty Jean Nash.
