Ronald Eugene Hartley, age 85 of South Williamsport, passed away February 27, 2025 at Edenbrook North Care Facility in Williamsport, following complications from dementia.

Ronald was born November 24, 1939 in Williamsport PA, to Truman and Dorthea Hartley.  Ronald married Colleen Betron, with whom he recently celebrated 65 years of marriage. They settled in South Williamsport, where they raised three children.

Ronald had a long career in route sales, as well as in road safety equipment distribution, helping to make our local communities safe for over 35 years.  Prior to his retirement, Ronald was praised as his company's "oldest working serviceman," remaining on the job until the age of 72.  In his free time, he was an avid fisherman and loved to take friends out on his fishing boat, and always made time to be his children and grandchildren's greatest fan at any sporting event or competition.

Mr. Hartley began actively serving South Williamsport as a volunteer fire fighter in 1985, with Citizens Hose Company, and became a life member.

He is survived by his wife Colleen, a son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Suzanne Hartley; and two daughters and sons-in-law, Marcy and Gary Funk and Melissa and Scott Letterman; four grandchildren, Megan Nicholas (Mike), Matthew Suders (Olivia), and Nathan Funk (Samantha), April Rutherford; great-grandchildren William, Abbey, Leilani, Carter, Owen, Parker, and Finley.

As per Ronald's wishes, no servicesare planned following his cremation at Maneval Allen Redmond Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to charities they often supported: Disabled American Veterans, Wounded Warriors Foundation, and the Shriners Children's Hospital.
