MUNCY - Ronald W. "Ron" Wertz, 70, passed away Saturday, December 7, 2024 at his home.

On October 6, 1995, he married the former Kathleen E. "Kathy" (Hales), who survives, and they have shared 29 years of marriage.

Ron was born on May 1, 1954 in Williamsport and was the son of the late Leonard and Helen (Leavy) Wertz.  He graduated from Williamsport High School in 1974.  He had worked at McDonalds in South Williamsport and Gettysburg.  He had retired from Weiss Seafood Dept. on Rivers Ave. in 2022.  Ron was a civil war enthusiast and a coin collector.

In addition to his wife Kathy, he is survived by two sons; Benjamin E. Gilbert (Ashley) of Turbotville and Aaron M. Wertz (Shaheem Mack) of Williamsport, five daughters; Jennifer M. Wertz of Cogan Station, Heather M. Wertz of Williamsport, Colleen E. Kempton (Brendan) of Pittsburgh, Kristiana E. Wertz of Muncy and Azzalea E. Wertz (Travis Grobes, II) of Williamsport, ten grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one brother; Leonard Wertz, Jr. of Williamsport.

There will be a gathering of family and friends 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, December 12, 2024 at Maneval Allen Redmond Funeral Home, 500 W. 4th St., Williamsport where the memorial service will begin at 7 p.m.
