Ruth "Ruthie" Morehouse Ellman, a retired resident of Fredericksburg, VA, passed unexpectedly on January 8, 2017, at the age of 65 while visiting her daughter and family in Maryland for the holidays.

Her daughter, Roberta Morehouse; her granddaughter, Lorraine; her sisters, Patricia Stetts and Pamela Brillhart; her nieces, Angela Stetts, Crystal Cohick, and Tonia Wilson; her nephews, Grant Morehouse and Walter "Walt" Morehouse; and a host of cousins, great nieces, and nephews survive Ruth.  She is predeceased by her parents, Walter and Thelma Morehouse; brother, Walter "Tiny" Morehouse; and sister, Bethann Morehouse.

Ruth was born in Williamsport, PA, on January 31, 1951, to Walter and Thelma Morehouse.  She was a graduate of South Williamsport High School and attended nursing school in Panama City, FL.  Ruth was a devoted mother and enjoyed her new role as "Gam Gam" to her granddaughter.  She loved the beach, cruising, cooking and writing poetry.  Deeply loved, Ruth, will be missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

There will be a public viewing from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. on January 22, 2017 at the Maneval Allen Redmond Cremation & Funeral Home, 500 W. Fourth St., Williamsport.  Services to celebrate her life will follow the viewing.  The funeral home will accept flowers and condolences.
