WILLIAMSPORT - Warren J. English, 80, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2016, at Rose View Nursing Center.

He was married to the former Susan E. (Oechler Hall) who survives.

Warren was born July 21, 1935, the son of Earl and Margaret (Reid) English.

He graduated from Williamsport High School in 1953 and later graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Master's degree in English.  Warren and Susan loved to travel all over the United States together. They also worked together to breed many litters of Havanese puppies. Warren enjoyed reading, writing, working on his computer and cooking.  He had served in United States Army for 20 years before retiring as a Major.  During that time, he served during both the Korean War and Vietnam War.

In addition to his wife, Susan, he is also survived by two sons, Graham English of Lunenburg, MA and Brian English of Brookline, MA; two daughters, Gia English of McHenry, IL and Nikki Grinthal of Somerset, PA; four step children, Wesley Hall of Savanah, GA, Linda Snyder of South Williamsport, Beth Cillo of Loyalsock, Kathy McKay of McDonald, PA; 8 grandchildren; 6 step grandchildren; a sister Esta Meisel of Montgomery.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa English.

The family will be receiving friends at the Maneval Allen Redmond Cremation and Funeral Home on Thursday May 26, 2016, from 6-7 PM with a Memorial Service following. Reverend Kenneth Weis will be officiating. Burial will be at the family's convenience at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery with full military honors.
