William G. Becht, 83, of Old Lycoming Township in Williamsport passed away peacefully Saturday April 17, 2021 at his home.

He was born January 7, 1938 the son of the late Henry and Anna (Fedock) Becht in Manhattan, NY.

William was preceded in death by his wife Regina (Schroeder) Becht on November 8, 2015. Together they enjoyed 62 years of marriage.

William worked as a conductor for the Long Island Railroad for over 31 years.  He enjoyed reading, gardening, puzzles and woodworking, but most of all he loved spending time with family.

William is survived by three sons, James Becht of Matthews, NC,  William R. Becht of Williamsport and Steven M. Becht of Otego, NY; four daughters,  Lauri J. Becht of Bayshore, NY, Barbara L. Martin of Patchogue, NY,  Donna L.  Contore of Stafford, VA and Eileen E. Gans of Islip Terrace, NY; as well as thirteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

In keeping with William's wishes his services will be held privately at the convenience of his family.
