MONTOURSVILLE - William S. "Mr. Bill" McKay, 91, died on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at the Hillside Assisted Living facility.

He was married on June 18, 1948 to the late Maxine L. (Schemery) who had died on April 1, 2006 and they had celebrated 57 years as husband and wife.

William was born on August 18, 1924 in Molltown and was the son of the late Robert J. and Florence M. (Menard) McKay.  He served with the US Navy during WWII.  William had worked for 34 years at Lowry Electric and then worked for 9 years for Penn College.  He was a member of the Pine Street United Methodist Church since 1957.  He was a life member of the American Legion, Post 1; Williamsport where he had served as a past commander, member of the 40/8 Voiture 382 of Williamsport where he had served as Chef-de-gare, member of the D.A.V. Chapter of Williamsport and member of the VFW Post 7863; Duboistown.  He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 397 of Williamsport, served as Masonic Chaplain for 32 years and was a member of Valley of Williamsport Consistory.

William is survived by one son; George W. McKay of S. Williamsport, two grandchildren; Matthew McKay and Angela McKay, one brother; Donald McKay of Kutztown and two sisters; Patricia Wily of Kutztown and Margaret Witman of Fleetwood.  In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers; Robert J. McKay, Jr. and Harold McKay.

There will be a public viewing 6 – 8 p.m. Sunday, July 10, 2016 at the Maneval Allen Redmond Cremation & Funeral Home, 500 West 4th St., Williamsport with a Masonic service held at 7:00 p.m.

The funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 11, 2016 at the funeral home with Pastor Douglas Eberly officiating.  Burial will follow in Montoursville Cemetery with military honors.
