WILLIAMSPORT - William C. Showers, Sr., 81, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2018 at the Gatehouse.

He was married to the late Mary E. (Woodring) who had passed away March 29, 1996. They were married for 32 years at the time of her death.

William was born on September 24, 1936 in Nippenose Township and was the son of the late Harry and Ethel (Brummer) Showers.  He had served his country with the US Army.  William had worked for Wildwood Cemetery for over 20 years before retiring.  He enjoyed fishing.

William is survived by one son; William C. Showers, Jr. (Tina) of Williamsport, two daughters; Romaine E. Showers and Mary A. Siertle (Larry), all of Williamsport, 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one brother.  In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one brother.

There will be a public viewing from 10 to 11 a.m., Friday, April 20, 2018 at the Maneval Allen Redmond Cremation & Funeral Home, 500 West 4th St., with the funeral to begin at 11:00 A.M.  Pastor Gary Runtas will officiate the service.

Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery with military honors.
