WILLIAMSPORT - Charles E. Snyder, Sr., 72, passed away Saturday, August 15, 2020 at the Gatehouse.
He was married on December 17, 1972 to the late Dawn L. (Snyder) who had passed away in 2018. They had celebrated 45 years as husband and wife.
Charles was born on December 29, 1947 in Bloomsburg and was the son of the late Alvin Edward “Ted” and Betty Ellen (Fahringer) Snyder. He graduated from Bloomsburg High School.
Charles was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints; Williamsport Ward where he was very involved and was a priesthood holder. He enjoyed politics, presidential history and his grandchildren. In his earlier years he was a volunteer for Bloomsburg Fire Dept and ambulance driver. He also was an elected constable and worked at the voting polls.
He is survived by one son; Charles Snyder, Jr. (Nicole) of Trout Run, two daughters; Vicki Patten (Jared) of Hoquiam, WA and Amy Paul (Theodore) of Williamsport, 10 grandchildren, two great grandchildren and two sisters; Sharon Lawrence of Zion Grove and Betsy Snyder of Selinsgrove.
There will be a public viewing 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. Thursday, August 20, 2020 at the Maneval Allen Redmond Funeral Home, 500 West 4th St., Williamsport. Following the viewing, there will be a funeral procession to the Fairview Cemetery, Montgomery where the graveside service will be held.
