Clayton A. Dodson, lovingly known as Clay, left this world on July 8, 2023, at his residence in South Williamsport. Born on July 23, 1959, in Danville, VA, Clay lived a life filled with passion, dedication, and remarkable achievements.

Clay's journey began with his service in the United States Navy, where he dedicated 17 years of his life. His exceptional skills in telecommunications earned him a prestigious award, showcasing his commitment to excellence. After his time in the Navy, Clay continued to serve his country, joining the Los Angeles Police Department, where he made a difference in countless lives. His dedication to public service extended to his role as a warden at Allenwood Federal prison, from which he retired.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Clay possessed a creative spirit that thrived through his artistic pursuits. He delighted in sculpting and painting, allowing his imagination to breathe life into beautiful works of art. Additionally, Clay was an avid lover of martial arts, embracing its discipline and philosophy.

Clay's thirst for knowledge was insatiable, and he had a particular interest in animals, wildlife, and science. With his brilliant mind, he authored publications and held patents for military innovations, including advancements in submarine technology and wildfire prevention. He was a true intellectual and had an unwavering passion for the Star Trek series.

Clayton A. Dodson was preceded in death by his parents, Ellis Alexander and Dorothy Marie (Johnson) Dodson. He leaves behind a legacy that will forever be cherished by his surviving family and friends. His daughter, Marquia Johnson, and her partner Robert Briggs, were a constant source of joy in his life. Clay was immensely proud of his two grandsons, Brailynn and Akai Johnson, as well as his granddaughter, Mehkaiah Bair. He also leaves behind his loving sisters, Penny Lima and Vanessa (Damian) Kearney and life partner, Jennifer Dodson. He will also be deeply missed by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and close community friends.

Services to honor the remarkable life of Clayton A. Dodson will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, October 16, 2023 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, 60 Indiantown Gap Road, Annville, PA 17003 with full military honors.
