David J. Allen, 75, of Montoursville, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023 at UPMC Susquehanna, Williamsport.
He was born in Williamsport on March 16, 1947 to the late Galen and Marion (Seewald) Allen. David was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish, Williamsport. He was a graduate of South Williamsport High School, class of 1965. David was married to the former Joanne Cohen on May 3, 1969. They celebrated 53 wonderful years of marriage together. David was retired from Stroehmann Bakeries, after 40 years of work as an internal auditor. He was a former member of the Republican Club and the VFW. David was a sports enthusiast. He loved baseball and recently, the Phillies were his team. David also played softball and talked sports with his grandchildren and nephews. He loved to travel, and visited many sports stadiums.
In addition to his wife Joanne, David is survived by a son, Michael (Kari) Allen, of Naples, Fla.; two grandchildren, Daniel Allen, of Atlanta, Ga., and Leah Allen, of Hoboken, N.J.; a brother, James "Jim" (Mary) Allen, of Duboistown; a sister, Gale Nuss, of Williamsport; two nephews, Christopher (Melissa) Allen, of Milford, N.J., and Matthew Allen, of Duboistown; and several nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
David is preceded in death by his parents; and two aunts, Helen Seewald and Mildred Allen.
A visitation will be held at 9 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 9, 2023 at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 702 W. Fourth Street, Williamsport. A Mass of Christian burial will follow the visitation beginning at 10 a.m., with Reverend David Bechtel officiating. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Montoursville.
