Emma A. (Moore) Quimby

WILLIAMSPORT - Emma Quimby, 105, passed from this life on September 30, 2019 at the Williamsport Home, surrounded by loved ones.  She was born May 12, 1914, the oldest child of the late Benjamin and Cordie Moore of Trout Run.  In November 1934, she married Evan “Jack” Quimby, who passed away on June 20, 1991.

Emma is survived by her son; Clyde (Nannette) Quimby of Trout Run and her daughter; Delores Vonada of State College.  Also surviving are her grandchildren; Patricia (Jeff) Moon, Robert Quimby, D. Suzanne (Scott) Barger and Deanna (Martin) Gillespie, her great grandchildren; Kyle Pepperman, Joshua Pepperman and Evan Barger and her great-great grandchildren; Ryder and Anson Pepperman.  She was predeceased by her son-in-law; Douglas Vonada.

Emma loved and enjoyed her family and her many friends.  She enjoyed playing cards, crossword puzzles, baking, crocheting and reading.  She was an active member of the community and the White Pine United Methodist Church.  She was also predeceased by her seven siblings; Sarah, Edna, Clifford, Clara, Ellen, Benjamin, Jr. and William Charles.  Several nieces and nephews survive.

The funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 5, 2019 at the White Pine United Methodist Church, 45 Campbell Rd., Trout Run.  Interment will be in Summit Cemetery following the service.  The Rev. Dr. H. Russell Blanchard, Jr. will officiate the services.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the White Pine United Methodist Church, c/o Shirley Patterson, 48 Covered Bridge Road, Trout Run, PA 17771 or to the Williamsport Home, 1900 Ravine Road, Williamsport, PA 17701.
