Ervene Emilie (Fredrickson) Vitacolonna

Ervene Emilie Vitacolonna, 79, of Williamsport, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, at the Williamsport Home.

She was born on July 20, 1939 in Galeton and was the daughter of the late Ernest E. and Elsie E. (Grant) Fredrickson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael V. Vitacolonna, in 1975.

She was retired from the Unemployment Office in Williamsport. In her earlier years, she was active in the 40/8, Moose Club and American Legion, and was an avid bowler. She enjoyed reminiscing about life growing up on the farm, gardening, reading, a good card game and her pets.

She is survived by two daughters, Earin (Joe) Szczechowski and Bernette (Jack) Ardrey, both of Williamsport; two sons, Bill (Julie) Vitacolonna, of Crofton, Md. and Ed (Heike) Vitacolonna, of Rigby, Idaho; six grandchildren, Shanah (Jim) Black, Lynnea (Jake) Welchel, Emily, Michael, Marc, Daniel Vitacolonna; six great-grandchildren, Aidan, Owen, Trinity, Jaxson, Deacon, Aria; three sisters, Edith Umstead, Etta Myers, Emeralda Frey; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Evelyn Arnold and Erma Stamm.

A memorial service to celebrate Ervene’s life will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Maneval Allen Redmond Cremation & Funeral Home, 500 W. Fourth St., Williamsport with Ervene’s niece, Lizanne Stamm officiating. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation from noon til the time of the service at the funeral home.
