George W. "Wayne" Weigle

WILLIAMSPORT - George W. “Wayne” Weigle, 76, passed away Monday, September 18, 2023 at Select Specialty Hospital, Camp Hill.

He was married to Sandra R. “Sandy” (Carr) Weigle, who survives, and they have shared 53 years together.

Wayne was born on May 3, 1947 in Williamsport and was the son of the late George Henry and Katherine C. (Price) Weigle.  He had graduated from Williamsport High School in 1966 and then enlisted with the US Army and served during the Vietnam War.  He had worked at Palmer Industrial and Williamsport Fabricators.  Wayne was a member of the NRA and enjoyed guns and hunting.

In addition to his wife Sandy, he is survived by one son; Erik W. Weigle of Williamsport, two daughters; Christine D. Hofstee (John) of Lexington, SC and Brooke A. Weigle of Williamsport, four grandchildren; Madelyn Weigle, Joey Pontious, Bodhi LaRue and Silas Weigle and one brother; Gregory L. Weigle of Williamsport.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers; Richard and Gary Weigle.

In keeping with Wayne’s wishes, there will be no services.

Arrangements are being handled by Maneval Allen Redmond Funeral Home, 500 W. 4th St., Williamsport.
