James Christopher Jihad Hammond

James Christopher Jihad Hammond, affectionately known as Mommy Son, passed away on July 16, 2023, in Williamsport, his birthplace. He was born on November 24, 2014, making him 8 years old at the time of his passing.

James was a vibrant and joyful child who brought happiness to everyone he encountered. He had a love for riding his scooter, being outdoors, and playing with friends. His favorite snacks were always found at the Dollar store, bringing him simple delight. James made countless friendships during his time in kindergarten and cherished every moment spent at school.

Left to mourn his loss are his loving mother, Jacqueline Hammond; his father, Jaleel Campfield; his brothers, Jibreel Hammond and Julian Jennings; his sister, Jahmyyllah Jennings; his maternal grandmother, Dorothy Brooks; his aunt, Antonia Bellinger; his uncles, Edwin Bellinger, Christopher Johnson (all of Williamsport), and Vaughn Jackson of Delaware; as well as a host of cousins and friends.

A viewing will take place on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, from 11:00am to 12:00pm at Maneval Allen Redmond Funeral Home, followed by a Janazah prayer at 12:00pm at Islamic Centre located at 322 Locust Street, Williamsport, PA 1770. Interment will then follow at Wildwood Cemetery.

Although James’ time with us was far too short, his memory will live on in the hearts of all those who knew and loved him. May his soul find eternal peace.

In keeping with Islamic tradition there will be no flowers.  The family suggests donations be made to Maneval Allen Redmond Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
