Richard Wienecke Obituary

Richard E. “Dick” Wienecke, 75, of Loyalsock Township, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at The Williamsport Home. He was born in Queens, New York on August 30, 1944 to the late Richard H. and Mary C. (Belinfante) Wienecke.

Richard was a member of Community Baptist Church in Montoursville. He graduated high school from Great Neck South, New York in 1965 and obtained his master’s degree in Business Administration from Bucknell University. He was the Senior Partner and founder of the accounting firm Gearhart, Wienecke & Verrastro and taught accounting at Lycoming College and C. W. Post. Dick was a member of the Ross Club and PA Institute of Public Accountants (PICPA). He served as a board member with American Rescue Workers. Dick was a foster parent for many years. He was also an avid fisherman.

Dick is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Kay M. (Lewis) Wienecke, two sons, Richard David “David” (Kelly) Wienecke, Walnut Port; and Fred F. Wienecke, Erie; four grandchildren, Sasha, Danielle, Malachi and Morgan; one brother, Paul (Jean) Wienecke, Milton; and a sister, Jill Davila, Burkesville, Kentucky.

In addition to his parents, Dick is preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Wienecke.

The funeral service will be held at 4:00pm on Saturday, March 14 at Community Baptist Church, 1853 State Route 87, Montoursville with Pastor Ben Hazen officiating. Burial will follow in Blooming Grove Cemetery, Cogan Station. A public viewing will be held on Saturday, March 14 from 10 to Noon at Maneval Allen Redmond Cremation & Funeral Home, 500 W. Fourth St., Williamsport. Please note there will be no procession to the church.
