Sara M. Haupt, 96, of Montgomery, passed away Thursday, Oct. 24, 2019 at Valley View Nursing Home in Montoursville. Born in Hemlock Twp, May 29, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Caroline (Rogers) Young.
Sara was employed for over 20 years as an employee of the Silk Mill in Montoursville, retiring in 1981. She was a member of the First Church United Methodist in Williamsport. Sara loved her family and enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She took a lot of joy in taking the grandkids to the creek for summer swimming. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo and doing crafts.
Sara is survived by her three children, a son, Frank L. Haupt, Jr. (Linda) of Montgomery; two daughters, Donna L. Golden, Jersey Shore and Sally J. Pysher (Jim) of Muncy, six grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
Sara was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Herman Cox and a sister, Ann Bowers.
A Tribute to Sara’s life will begin with a visitation 11 am to 12 noon, followed by a funeral service at 12, Monday, Oct. 28, 2019 at Maneval Allen Redmond Funeral Home, 500 West Fourth Street, Williamsport, PA. Pastor Robert Bieber will officiate. Burial will private.
