So sad to hear of your Dad's passing. I grew up in church hearing your Mom and Dad play the most beautiful violin music. I gave me a love of the violin that has endured! My Dad, Chet, said he would walk through a blizzard to hear your Dad play and we were honored that he played at my Dad's funeral. He lives on in my heart every time I hear a violin.

I met Uncle Don during a very stressful period in my life. He opened his home to me and provided a warm place for me. His children, my cousins Nancy and Wayne, and wife, Aunt Phyllis made me feel welcomed and wanted. I still remember Uncle Don's broad, bright smile and infectious laugh. Thank you, Uncle Don. My condolences to your family.

A PEDESTAL ARRANGEMENT was sent on October 13, 2016

Don will truely be missed. A good neighbor and friend for more than 50 years. We will miss the talks over the fence and the flowers he would cut and bring to the house. He was truely a joy to have close to our family. Condolences The Metzger Family

On behalf of the Williamsport Symphony Orchestra I extend my most sincere sympathy to all of Don's family - I was privileged to know Don as the parent of my former student, Nancy - he was a lovely man, a true gentleman and a wonderful asset to us at WSO - we planned to honor him and other former players on Monday - his absence will be sorely missed.

So sorry to hear about Mr. Freed's passing. Don and Phyllis were my violin teachers for many years. It was with their guidance that I was able to excel on the violin and chose to make it my profession. He touched so many lives over the years with his performances and the students he taught. His legacy will live on through those of us who continue to share our love of music with others. May he rest in peace.
