Following service in the US Army Reserves, Peyton worked at Sprout Waldron for 10 years.  In 1969 he opened a brokerage office in Williamsport, associated with Hugh Johnson & Co.  He continued as a broker for 40 years, retiring from Merrill Lynch in 2012.

A member of the Covenant Central Church for 58 years, he faithfully served as deacon, elder and wherever needed.

An avid golfer and long-time member of the Williamsport Country Club, Peyton became club champion 3 times – in 3 different decades!
