WILLIAMSPORT - Lucille M. Weaver (Tebbs), 89, passed away Sunday, October 15, 2017 at her residence.

She was the daughter of Edna (Vandine) and Fred Tebbs. She graduated from Palmetto High School, Palmetto, FL, Williamsport Dickenson Jr. College, and later Lycoming College.  She earned a Masters Degree in Elementary Ed. Lucille was employed as a Medical Secretary and later as a Radiological Tech. After completing her Bachelor’s Degree, 24 years were spent teaching in the Williamsport Area School District.

Upon retirement she became actively involved at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church.  Lucille served as Council President and Secretary.  She was quite involved in many committees, including Altar Guild and the Quilting Women.

She was a member of the Lycoming Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution having served as Regent, as well as other offices. Three years were spent as State Librarian of PSDAR.

Lucille was a member of the Women’s Cub, the Historical Society and Friends of the JV Brown Library.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Carl A. Weaver, a son Craig A (Sandra) of Hagerstown, MD, daughter Cynthia Nester (John) of Williamsport, and Christine A. Weaver (David Brown) of Denver, CO. She is survived by two grandchildren, Emily of Baltimore and Ben of Hagerstown.  She was predeceased by two younger sisters, one of which was E. Louise (Petie) Waltman. Lucille was the oldest of 17 first cousins with 7 surviving.

Her memorial service will be held at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 142 Market St., Williamsport on October 22nd at 3:00 pm. Her ashes will be placed in the church’s Columbarium at the conclusion of her service.  A reception, celebrating her life, will follow in Fellowship Hall and her wishes are that everyone will attend.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Mark’s Lutheran Church.

Arrangements are being handled by the Maneval Allen Redmond Cremation & Funeral Home, Williamsport.
